An Incident That Changed Me!

AN INCIDENT THAT CHANGED ME
Passing through the woods
Sometime around dusk
Keeping each foot forward
Gently on the crust
As it grows darker
The faster my heart beats
But I move without an utter
Not knowing where it leads
The dark, scary forest
Sees me with creepy eyes
The growls of wolves scares me
As I long, for the sun to rise
Crumbling the grass, in the path I proceed
As I look back, the way seems to recede
Incessantly moving ahead
Every fear of mine I bork,
Realizing a sense of change
I find myself at a fork
As the sun arises
I see the yellow wood
I fall into the thought
Which road is bad or good
The next moment I feel
That anyone will be fine
Heretofore while coming along
I’d never thought of this time
There is something wrong
My inner self says
And deep inside my thoughts
I stand in a maze
Where will this lead? Where will I go?
I don’t know. Which one to follow.
Then I do decide
To go with the first
But wait a second
What if it’s the worst?
But this is the same
For the second one too
There bewildered I stand
What do I do?
The dark would have been better
At this point of time
Neither I would have seen this fork
Nor stuck in this line
This is like a battle
That will never ever end
So, I go the second way
There’s no point to defend.
Then I realized
This was somewhat usual
It was a daily experience
Of the life of an individual
Crossing a situation
When you’re to select
Isn’t it a fork?
Where all seem correct!
However in the end
You have to choose one
Not knowing where each of them
Will go when they’re done.
When you can’t decide
Even with endless thinking
You blame the surrounding
For you to be floundering
You hope for a different place
Where this could be done with ease
Refusing to the challenge
Your difficulty you cease
But this ease is temporary
You can’t escape from life
Because life itself is a challenge
And you’ll later strife
Facing difficulties
Is part and parcel of living
One who denies, is a coward
One who faces, is daring
This gave me a lesson
To stand up with courage
Only you can mend your life
Your problems you should manage
No one will come to help you
At the mountain you will climb
You have to be your savior
That too, before it’s time
This is truly very hard
But it’s one of life’s keys
For then, the rest of your life
Will surely pass with ease
In front of every trouble
Your will is the tower
No one is you
And that is your power!
That's what I have for you today. Hope you find it helpful.
