Once there was a large field on the outskirts of a village. A sparrow built her nest in the tall plants of the field. Soon she gave eggs and in some time small baby birds hatched from the eggs.

The sparrow took gentle care of her kids; she would bring food for them and rub their backs with her beak to put them off to sleep.
Soon it was time for harvesting the crop.
One day, when the sparrow returned to her nest with food for her babies, she saw that they were very scared and anxious.
'Oh my dear children, tell me why do you look so worried?', she asked.
Her children replied, 'Mother! Today the farmer had come to the field and he was talking about sending his sons to the field to harvest the crop tomorrow. Now what will we do? Where will we go? We are too young to fly mom.'
'Don't worry my children. Nobody will come tomorrow and we will continue to live here.', said the sparrow.
What she said came true, really no one came to the field that day. The babies were happy that they did not have to leave their home.

Again came a day when the sparrow saw her children frightened and shaken.
She asked them about the reason.
They said, 'Mother! The farmer had again come today and he was talking about sending labourers to the field to harvest the crop. Now what will we do?'
And this time too the mother asked her children to be calm and said that nobody would come to harvest the crop.
And so happened. Nobody came. The children were happy.
Again came such a day but with a twist.
The sparrow was in the nest with her children, when the farmer came to his field and said to himself, 'I will come to harvest the crop tomorrow.'
The little birds were not stunned at all. In fact they didn't have a single line on their faces however the sparrow was very worried.
She looked at her children who seemed to be completely care free about what they had listened to.
"Aren't you all scared? Tomorrow the farmer is going to come himself to harvest the crop." , she said.
"Mother, we are not tensed as this has happened in the past too. The farmer made plans for harvesting the crop earlier as well. And as you had said, no one turned up. And that would be repeated this time too! Then why this worry?"
The sparrow replied," Not this time kids. Tomorrow the farmer will come."
The children were puzzled. They asked her how she was so confident about the farmer coming to harvest his field.
And to that she replied," Before this, the farmer was dependent on someone or the other for getting his work done. Initially he was dependent on his sons for the task and then, the labourers. But this time the farmer has decided to do his work himself. And thus I say my children, he will come tomorrow. he will surely come. So we have to go from here."
The babies had grown enough to be able to fly. They obeyed their mother's words.
The next day the farmer came, and harvested the whole field.

The sparrows had left well before...
You see..
Being dependent on someone or something to complete our tasks is a sign of laziness. Be it dependency on people, things, time or mood. What is to be done, should be done, no ifs and buts to be placed in between.
Until you are dependent on any of the above mentioned, to get your work done; or if these factors influence the progress or efficacy of your tasks, you will never be able to finish that task.
This does not mean that you should not take help from anyone. It is not wrong to ask for help. But if you want to start some work or do it before some deadline, you must do that work by yourself.
Even god help those who help themselves.
Being fully dependent on others for your work, will take you nowhere but lows and regrets.
Therefore, if you have a dream in your life, do not depend on others to fulfill it. If people are with you or not with you in this dream of yours, do not stop working for it. Don't make your dreams so worthless that it never meets reality just becuse dependency was a real problem for you.
Do things yourself, and you will always be succcessful.
That is what will take you
from Laziness to...
