The Broken Airplane
In a big beautiful bungalow
There lived a little boy
Pampered by his parents
Who never let him cry
They would get him gifts
And treats all the time
For his wants, they were ready
To spend every dime
So, one day after work
His dad got him a toy
Just one glance at it
And he was full of joy
In the morning and evening
Afternoon and night
He would keep this airplane
Everyday by his side
He had a lot of toys
But the plane was the best
However, as time passed
It got lost in the rest
With new gifts each day
He forgot about the plane
One day when found broken
He threw it down the lane
Passing by the street
There came a poor boy
That’s when he noticed
That old broken toy
He had dusty matted hair
And wore rags for a dress
With the sight of the plane
He was overcome with happiness
Although it was broken
Left on the road
He took it with a smile
To a hut, his abode
His family was so poor
That toys, he had none
They couldn’t afford meals
How could he think of fun
But since he’d got the plane
He would play with it all day
It was the best thing he had
That’s what he would say
Something that was forgotten
By that little rich boy
For the poor kid, it was a source
Of unending joy
Perspective is varied
For different sets of people
A masterpiece for some
For some, just a pebble
That's what I have for you today. Hope you find it helpful.
