Your Association Affects!

Bhumi N Deshpande
Success is a journey, not a destination - Zig Ziglar

You must have heard this quote a zillion times heretofore.

However, the knowledge gained is of no use until you implement those lessons in your life.

In this journey of success, we face many obstacles and failures . This is known to all. But another indispensable aspect of this journey is the people we meet or collaborate with throughout this journey.

When you decide to do something that no one can imagine, you sought to make it your goal and finally take the plunge. Your family, relatives, well wishers and friends will wholeheartedly give you best wishes.

But the twist begins when you start the journey.

For the path to one's destination is never straight. There are a lot of crossroads in between.

Where you choose to go is influenced largely by the people you spend the most time with. One path will take you to your destination and the other will deviate your direction.

You cannot reach the right place from the wrong path.

You might realise your mistake and come back on track, but what if you do not realize where you went wrong and get depressed due to things not coming your way?

Hence it is very very very important to choose your circle of friends wisely. You should always spend time with people who are like minded to you. Who want to do something in life and they're forever determined for it. People from whom you constantly learn something that'll help you in the dark. People who will help you stay on track and reach your destination.

Your friends circle should consist of people who are fully focused on their goals and their plans of achieving them. People full of positivity and will.

'You are the average of five people you spend the most time with.' - Jim Rohn

Therefore you should choose your friends and companions only and only after you're convinced they would have the influence as mentioned above.

'Give place to good influence people in your life, and everything in your life will fall in place.'

You see, there's quite a lot we cannot decide about.

We don't decide what family we are born in, who are parents will be, who are siblings will be, who are relatives will be, who are neighbours will be......none of this can we change.

The only thing we decide is who are FRIENDS will be.

So be very careful and make the best choice.

Be it the journey of success or the journey of life, our true friends will always motivate us at our lowest and help us stay grounded at our highest.

We all will some or the other day face problems in life for they are bound to come.

These problems are like buildings, big and tall buildings.

Suppose there is a 70 storey building and a 30 storey building in front of each other. From ground, the 30 storey building will also appear quite big. But if you look at it from the terrace of the 70 storey building, won't it appear small?

Taking another example.

I'm sure you know of 'Burj Khalifa' , the world's highest skyscraper. If you look at the Burj Khalifa from sea level, how will it appear? Gigantic and tall indeed!

Suppose, you are in a flight. Now if you look at this huge skyscraper from the flight window, will it appear that huge? No! Infact you'll be able to see the building as tiny as a building block.

What happened in the above examples? Did the building shrink for real?

No! The level from which you were looking at the buildings changed.

This is exactly how association affects us.

When we associate with positive and committed individuals, their thoughts and ideas affect our way of thinking and tackling situations. As a result, our level of intelligence, resilience and maturity raises to great heights.

And that's when those problems (tall buildings) appear smaller to us as we see them from a higher level of perspective.

Your circle of close people affect your perspective, your perspective affects your attitude and your attitude affects your journey of success.

So always and always...

Keep your association right and you'll reach the right destination!
